Car accidents can be caused by a variety of factors. All it takes is one wrong move and vehicles can collide, causing serious injuries to those involved. Recently, a man driving a pickup truck crossed the center line and hit traffic head-on, damaging multiple vehicles and injuring numerous people, including a 5-year-old child.
The accident occurred on the evening of Nov. 29 in Bratton Township, nearly two hours outside Dayton. A 52-year-old man was driving his Dodge pickup on Ohio 72, going westbound, when he entered the path of eastbound traffic. The man struck a 30-year-old male driving a 2003 Ford pickup as well as a 36-year-old man driving a 1999 Ford pickup, creating a three truck pile-up.
The man who caused the accident was taken via helicopter to University of Cincinnati Hospital, suffering from serious injury. Two occupants in one of the Ford trucks - including a 5-year-old boy - were also airlifted to local hospitals to be treated for serious injuries.
All vehicles suffered major damage due to the car accident. The accident investigation is still underway.
An accident can happen at any time, so it helps to be prepared. Every vehicle should have an accident kit that includes insurance information, a disposable camera, pen and paper, and a list of questions to ask. It also helps to understand the auto insurance policy ahead of time so that there are no issues after an accident.
If an accident causes serious injuries, the victim may recover compensation. A personal injury claims against the liable party may help a victim get the money he or she needs for medical bills, lost wages and other damages.
