Drivers in Dayton must always be on alert for a potential car accident. Whether the accident happens as a result of a negligent driver, DWI, recklessness or the weather, they can all cause serious injury. Automobile accidents can be life-changing events with some victims needing long-term care. They can even lead to fatalities.
An accident involving two Chevy sedans sent both drivers to the hospital. The 31-year-old male driver of one Chevy ran through a stop sign and crashed into the other Chevy being driven by a 75-year-old woman. The man was critically injured and flown via helicopter to the hospital. The woman was also hospitalized. Her condition has not been revealed, but she was said to have been alert at the site of the accident.
Given the number of accidents that happen on the road, it is one of the leading causes of injury and death. Some accidents are mere fender benders and there are no major injuries as a result. Others are more serious and lead to head injuries, injuries to the spinal cord, broken bones, amputations, burns, scars and more. Depending on the situation, a person might face an extended stay in the hospital along with the bills that accompany it. Even after leaving the hospital the injured person might need long-term care and might not be able to go back to work. If there is a fatality, the person who died might have been the breadwinner or a stay-at-home mother whose absence will have a long-term, negative affect on the lives of loved ones. Accidents must be thoroughly investigated and victims must be aware that they might be eligible for compensation.
In this instance, one driver went through a stop sign and crashed into the other. Both were hospitalized. Insurers will do whatever they can to limit the amount they have to pay. Because there were injuries, these people and their families will likely be considering their options when it comes to potentially filing a lawsuit.
