Most car accidents don't involve tractors, but a recent crash on U.S. 33 in Logan did involve a farm tractor. Both men involved in the Ohio car accident were injured.
Police are still investigating the crash, which happened on the afternoon of June 17. A 53-year-old man was traveling westbound on the route in a farm tractor pulling a mower. The tractor displayed an emblem indicating that it was a slow-moving vehicle. He was rear-ended by a car driven by a 42-year-old man.
Both men sustained injuries in the collision. They were taken to Grant Medical Center. The driver of the tractor was airlifted there, while the other man was taken to another hospital first and then transferred.
Car accidents can cause a variety of injuries, especially to the head, neck and back. It is unknown what injuries the men suffered in this case, or their current condition. However, when victims are airlifted or transferred to a hospital that typically means that they suffered serious injury. It is hopeful that they will survive their injuries.
The results of the accident may show that liability should go to the driver of the car. When a driver hits another from behind, he or she is usually at fault because, for the most part, there is no reason why the vehicle could not stop in time. If this is the case, the man could be sued and forced to pay compensation to the tractor driver for the injuries and other damages he sustained. He could receive payment for lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering.
