Alleged drunk driver kills 1 and injures 5 in Dayton crashes

There are many reasons why car accidents happen. They can occur due to a driver's recklessness, a drunk driver or a driver operating his or her vehicle negligently. Regardless of the reason, with any kind of crash, there is the possibility that they will turn into fatal accidents. Given the numerous issues that can result from an accident, those who have been affected by it need to understand how to proceed after it has happened. That includes an accident investigation and considering a legal filing.

Recently in Dayton, the driver of a blue truck is believed to have been drunk when he caused several accidents in different locations. One person died and five others, including a one-year-old baby, were injured. The series of accidents happened not long after 9 p.m.

A witness stated that his pregnant wife had been injured in a hit and run by the truck. The vehicle subsequently hit a cab and left the scene. The driver then passed through an intersection, crashed into another vehicle and left the scene. It was in the accident after the intersection that the fatality occurred. The witness stated that he and other people pursued the driver and detained him until law enforcement arrived. The driver was thought to have been drunk and was taken into custody by the police.

When heading out on the road, few like to think that it can end with a car accident, injuries and deaths. Because driving is such a necessity for so many, it's something that has to be done in spite of the known dangers. The potential ramifications from a car accident range from the minor with cuts and bruises to the moderate with broken bones, to the devastating with brain injury, paralysis and death. Those who have been involved in an accident will not only face the potential of missing work and losing wages, but they might need to receive extensive care, accrue massive medical costs, and possibly never return to normal. Seeking compensation through litigation is frequently the only option available.

In this incident, an alleged drunk driver caused several accidents and did a significant amount of damage including killing a person. Accident victims in this situation should understand their legal rights by discussing their case with an experienced attorney.
