Any car accident in Dayton or across Ohio can have serious ramifications with serious injury and death. Not only does a car collision have the chance to cause long-term issues physically, but it can have emotional and financial costs as well. Those who have been involved in automobile accidents need to be aware of everything they will face and take steps accordingly. That can include treatment as well as considering pursuing legal action.
Recently, a red Chevrolet pickup truck and a red four-door vehicle collided at an intersection in Clayton at approximately 5:30 p.m. The accident investigation is ongoing to determine its cause. So far, what is known is that the pickup was heading north and went into the intersection when it collided with the passenger vehicle going east. The driver of the pickup reportedly suffered injuries that are considered life-threatening. It was a possibility that the pickup driver was ejected from his vehicle, but that has not been confirmed or denied. He was taken to the hospital via air. The other driver was also hospitalized from the accident.
The various injuries that can be suffered in a car collision can have life-changing consequences. A brain injury, spinal injury, paralysis, fractures and many others can negatively affect a person for the rest of his or her life. Insurance companies might sound sympathetic when they are informed of a crash, but it must be remembered that their main focus is on the bottom line and saving as much money as possible. Any settlement they offer will likely be in their best interests. This is when it is imperative to have quality legal advice on how to proceed.
In this two-car crash, both drivers were hospitalized with the pickup driver's life said to be in jeopardy. While the circumstances of this crash are still being investigated, those who were hurt and their families need to be cognizant of what they are facing. Like any other victim in similar circumstances, the injured people in this case, or their family members, may want to discuss the issue with an experienced attorney.
